My friends call me Tash, I am closer to 40 than I would like.
I am married to the man of my dreams and together we have 2 beautiful little girls, Kamika Leigh is 13 and Taeyah Rae is 5.
We live in Hartbeespoort in the North West, we love it here, it’s close enough to the big cities, but far away enough for a bit of peace (and hardly any traffic).
We believe in animal rescue (Adopt, don’t shop!) and have a little Zoo ourselves with 4 dogs, 2 cats and my husband’s fish.. (don’t ask!)
As a family, we try be as active as we can, we love getting outside when time allows.
Drew and I are big into crossfit – it’s our happy place and I love that we can train together even at our different levels, plus when I talk about crossfit – and lets be honest, I talk about it a lot, I love that he gets it!! We also recently started challenging ourselves in the Warrior races – how much FUN are those?
Photography started just as a hobby for me, taking photos of wildlife in the bush. We soon realised though that keeping still and quiet for so long was not for me.
After the birth of my daughter in 2002, I started taking photos of her, and I realised that I absolutely loved everything about child photography, I practised and practised and read book after book, and then practised some more.
I started digital scrapbooking my photos and that opened up other areas of my photography, remembering to capture the little details, the dirty little hands, the scraped knee, the freckles.
I started Natasha Whiteley Photography in 2006 and since then it’s been a whirlwind of emotions. I consider myself truly blessed that I not only love what I do, but that I am pretty good at it too. (I love to knit too, but gosh, I stink at that, lol)
Newborn photography is my absolute passion, I love everything about it, I love that no newborn session is the same, each one is different as every baby I meet is completely unique.
While newborns do tend to make up most of my business, I still do family sessions and I adore those also. Little children make my heart smile, they are so much fun, my own children say it’s because I myself am still just a child. They might be right..
I love to jump in puddles, I can happily live in my jeans and sneakers, my hair is almost always pink or has pink in it, I’m not fond of getting all dressed up and I probably moan about it just as much as children do. 🙂
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading a bit about me, please feel free to contact me should you wish to book a session or even if you just have a question.
I look forward to meeting you.
